A few random recent happenings

I've started my course at Edinburgh College of Art so all being well in 3 years time I will have a BA Hons Degree in Glass. This is where the hard work starts! Really excited at the prospect of getting back in to the creative groove and making wonderful glass art! Above are a couple of slumped platters I made and sandblasted with an organic design based on seaweed.

Not quite sure where my summer went to! In the blink of an eye I've gone from June to September.. maybe I've time travelled who knows.
I've spent lots of time chilling out with my lovely Hubby and rediscovered the joy of reading in the sunshine :)
We spent a magical night in Edinburgh for the festival fireworks, got our tickets then had a delicious dinner before we cuddled up on the grass in Princes Street Gardens listening to the Scottish Chamber Orchestra playing Handel's finest works with a perfect full view of Edinburgh castle and a sky full of fireworks. I managed to take 537 photos, some of my favourites can be found here.
There's been loads more happening but some of it is top secret but more soon :) lots to look forward to too.. next week we're going to see Billy Connolly at the Usher Hall. A pressie for part of Alan's birthday last week.. now he is officially thirty ten I can indeed call him 'my old man'

Forgotten blog

Ooops keep forgetting to post.. in fairness things have been kinda all over the place with chilling out in the sunshine, baking cookies, reading, looking after the wee beasties and all that this summer holiday has entailed!
Went to Edinburgh last weekend to catch a bit of the festival and saw Mumford & Sons. They were even better than I had hoped and we left feeling excited to be seeing them again next month in Glasgow!
I've been working on a few sweet little lino cuts which has been very theraputic to say the least. Now I should really get to printing them and getting some work up online!
Found this photo as I was having a clearout of my mac and although it was taken in June it seems sooo long ago.. oh how I long to be back in France eating potato pie with creme fraiche again!

Summer Daze

It seems like forever ago since our merry band of peeps broke up for the summer. We are all heading our separate ways and I feel in that a sense of sorrow mingled with the excitement of new adventures and journeys. The 3 years I spent at Adam Smith have been amongst the hardest in a personal sense but an absolute treasure in every other way possible. I have a kind of hollow feeling now that it is over but am sure I'll pop in for a visit soon enough :)

The summer break will give me the chance to sort through my art things and bring a pinch of organisation to the chaos but how long that will last for is anyone's guess.

I feel the lure of a good book and a cup of tea in the sunshine before we get rained upon so shall take up my usual position in the garden with the cats on my lap.
